Once your prototype test is live and data has been collected, it’s time to analyze and make sense of the results. If you have access to full study recordings, watching participants’ live interactions provides the richest insights. In addition, we offer advanced visualization tools, including heat maps and click maps, to help you analyze results more efficiently.
Summary at a Glance
For every prototype task, the overview summary displays high-level metrics:
- Total participants: the total number of participants that have completed the study. Any incomplete studies will not be recorded as a response.

Success Rate: Shows the percentage of participants who successfully reached the desired end goal. This includes both direct and indirect successes. The calculation may vary depending on the success criteria you’ve set:
- Following specific expected path: If participants go through the designated expected path, it is considered a success.
- Reach the end screen: As long as participants reach the designated end screen, it will be considered a success.
- Free exploration: will not show success rates because participants are freely exploring the prototype.
- Misclick Rate: Shows the percentage of clicks that occurred outside the interactable zones defined in your Figma design file.
- Average duration: is the average of time that participants spent on completing the task.
By Paths, Frames, and Responses
You can also review the results by:

Paths: show the results by different paths or user flow that participants took. If the success criteria was set as either Following the expected path(s) or Reach specific end screen(s), it will also show direct success, indirect success, or incomplete.
- If the task was free exploration, it shows individual paths and common paths (any duplicate paths that participants took).
- Frames: You can review the results by each frame or screen.
- Responses: allows you to review results by individual responses.
1. Paths
Paths tab displays the results by different paths that participants took. You can filter by direct success, indirect success, or incomplete.
You can review the details by selecting View details for each path.
Path Analysis
There could be a lot going on when you first open the detailed page so we'll break down by parts.
The main space shows the screen and the different clicks and interactions that participants had. In the example above, it is showing the heat map of three participants for the particular frame.
- At the center bottom, you can click on each thumbnail to navigate to other frames.
- You can see the Path metrics on the top right corner, which shows the overall path metrics.
- Below, you see the frame name Home along with frame/screen-level metrics.
- Center right area shows the different visualization and filtering options.
- Heat maps are useful when you want to examine the overall interactions of many participants.
- Clicks are recommended when viewing at few or single participant interaction. You can further visualize their interaction with click order and click flow.
- You can also capture the image and download it locally.
2. Frames
You can also review by individual frames. Selecting the thumbnail of each frame will show a modal with detailed participant interactions.
- Unlike the path view above, this view only displays the frame-level metrics on the top right.
- You can navigate to different frames using the thumbnails in the center bottom.
3. Responses
You can also review the results by individual responses, highlighting the participant ID, date of submission, name of the path and success, duration, and link to the full recording.
