Recruiting the right participants is essential for gathering high-quality insights. The platform allows you to recruit participants through different sources, including your own users or external research panels (Respondent and User Interviews).
Follow these steps to set up and manage participant recruitment for your studies.
- We recommend our full guide on recruiting participants in Hubble.
Step 1: Access the Recruitment Section
Once you are in your workspace dashboard, select Recruit testers. To launch a new recruitment project, select New recruitment on the top right page.
Step 2: Choose Your Recruitment Source
Hubble provides you access to millions of high quality participants directly sourced from either Respondent or User Interviews.
Respondent offers over 4 million participants across 150+ countries, making it a great choice for general usability tests and broad feedback collection.
User Interviews provides access to over 5 million participants across various industries and locations, ideal for highly targeted research studies.
When you have decided which option to choose, click Continue.
Step 3: Fill Out Project Requirements
You will be taken to the next page, where you will need to fill out the project details. These details help us understand your project requirements as you outline the details.
Project details include:
- Project name (internal and external), and description (external). Anything denoted as external use means that it is what participants will see about the project.
- Study link: You need a live, active study to tell which project you need recruiting for. For multiple projects, you need to create a separate recruitment request.
- Additional instructions for study: The text will be displayed to the participants once they are invited to the study. You can include information, such as what to expect, how to access the study link, or any additional information that would be useful to the participants.
- Number of participants: You can set the target number of participants for the study. We will recruit double the target number of qualified participants for you to choose from.
- Target audience (B2B or B2C participants): The demography details (in Step 2) will differ depending on the participant type. Read details below to learn about their differences.
- Device, browser, data collection (video, audio, and screen share) types
You will also need to specify whether you want B2C or B2B participants. To learn more about the difference, see the article on B2C vs. B2B participants.
Fill out the project details carefully, as it will give the participants clear and concise information to help them understand what they’re signing up for.
Once done filling out the form, click Next: Demography.
Step 4: Specify Demographic Information
Defining the right demographic filters is crucial to ensure that your study is gathering insights from the most relevant participants.
These include country, age range, ethnicity, gender, education, household income, and professional background.
If you are recruiting B2B participants, there are specific fields that let you specify professional criteria like job responsibilities, skill sets, and more.
Make sure to fill these fields out correctly so you can ensure you're reaching the right participants for your study.
Step 5: Configure Screener Questions
In this step, you will be setting up a screening question. Whether you are configuring the settings for Respondent or UserInterviews Resource, you have three options to choose from: Single, Multiple, and Open.
When you choose the single choice, the participants select one option from a list that is useful for exclusive criteria. Multiple Choice allows the selection of multiple options suitable for non-exclusive criteria.
If you want the participants to provide free-form responses, you can set up the Open Text Choice.
To add more screener questions, select + add screening question.
Tip: Keep questions brief to maintain participant engagement. Also, ensure questions directly relate to your study's objectives and use straightforward language to avoid confusion. We recommend the article on effective participant screening.
After curating the screening questions, select Next Review to review the details before publishing the recruitment.
Step 6: Preview and Publish Recruitment
Make sure the project details, demographic filters, and screening questions are accurate. Select Back to make any edits to the details.
Once you are satisfied with your setup, click Recruit Participants to begin recruiting participants. Launching the recruitment will automatically start sourcing for participants that are fit for your study.
After publishing, you can monitor responses and manage participants directly from the recruitment project.
