After a participant completes an AI-moderated interview, the session is saved as a response. In each response you can generate notes from the transcript, write your own, and organize them with labels.
Completed sessions show up under Responses in your study. Each row lists the tester, the source, the date, and one column for every topic in the interview. To review a topic, open its recording or its notes from that row.
Clicking View recording under a topic opens the analysis view, with the recording and transcript on the left, your notes in the middle, and the Summary overview on the right. The transcript is split by speaker and timestamped. If Auto-generate notes is off, the notes start out empty until you add some.
Generating notes from the transcript
To fill the notes section, you can let Hubble read the transcript and write the notes for you. Click Generate above the notes to open a window with three ways to do it.
- General reads through the whole transcript and highlights key moments.
- By topic lets you enter a topic, keyword, or phrase, and returns only the notes that relate to it.
- Brain dump takes rough or unstructured text you paste in and turns it into clean notes.
Pick the one that fits and click Generate.
After you click Generate, the notes appear as cards in the notes section. Each card shows the note along with the transcript line and timestamp it came from, and the matching part of the transcript is highlighted on the left.
Adding and labeling notes
You can also add notes yourself, directly from the transcript, and tag them with labels.
Step 1. Highlight the part of the transcript you want, and a small menu appears. Click Create note.
Step 2. The note attaches to that timestamp. Click Add labels to tag it.
Step 3. Search for a label you already have, or type a new name and click Create new label.
Step 4. Labels can nest, so a broad theme can hold narrower ones underneath. Check the ones you want and click Continue. Anything you create stays in the study, so you can reuse it on later notes.
Step 5. The label now sits as a tag above the note. Write your note in the text box, and it saves against the timestamp you started from.
Filtering notes by label
Once multiple notes share a label, you can filter the view to just those notes. Open the filter next to Generate and pick the label. When you select notes, a toolbar appears along the bottom where you can delete them or mark them as read at once.
